MetaTrader 4 is the trading platform that connects to CMC Markets and executes your trades. Download it directly from CMC Markets — this ensures it comes pre-configured with CMC's servers.

- Install and log in with your CMC credentials (account number, trading password, server)
Satis Omnibus Desktop Relay Coming Soon
A lightweight desktop app that connects your MT4 terminal to the Satis Omnibus cloud. It receives trade signals from our servers and relays them to MT4 for execution. Runs quietly in the background — no interaction needed after setup.
The desktop relay is currently in development. In the meantime, you can use the web dashboard to view CMC signals and execute them manually in MT4.

- Generate API keys (enable Trade permission only — never Withdraw)
- Paste API Key and Secret into Satis Omnibus → Broker Keys
- Click Start Auto on your dashboard

CMC Markets (Stocks/Forex) — 15 minute setup
- Create a CMC Markets account (start with demo if you prefer)
- Download and install MetaTrader 4 from CMC's website
- Log into MT4 with your CMC credentials
- Enter your MT4 Account Number, Trading Password, and Server Name into Satis Omnibus → Broker Keys
- Enable CMC scanning on your dashboard (CMC toggle)
- Leave MT4 open and connected on your laptop
Important: MT4 must stay open and logged in on your laptop for CMC trades to execute. If you close MT4 or your laptop goes to sleep, signals will still appear on the web dashboard but won't be traded until MT4 is back online. See the power settings guide below.
Recommended Hardware
This section is only for CMC Markets users who need a computer running MT4 24/7. If you're only trading crypto via Swyftx, you don't need any of this — skip to How to Use.
MetaTrader 4 is extremely lightweight — it was built in 2005 and runs smoothly on almost any hardware. You don't need a gaming PC or expensive setup. Here's what works:

In short: if your computer can run a web browser, it can run MT4.

Your Daily Laptop
You can run MT4 on the same laptop you use every day. It uses minimal resources and runs quietly in the background while you work.

Power Settings (Prevent Sleep)
If you're using a laptop or desktop, make sure it doesn't go to sleep while MT4 is running. Here's how to set it up on Windows:
- Open Settings → System → Power & battery (or search "Power" in Start menu)
- Set "When plugged in, turn off my screen after" to any time you like (screen off is fine)
- Set "When plugged in, put my device to sleep after" to Never
- If using a laptop with the lid closed: search "lid" in Start menu → open "Change what closing the lid does" → set "When I close the lid" to Do nothing (for "Plugged in")
Tip: Keep your laptop plugged in at all times when running MT4. Running on battery will eventually shut it down. A cheap surge protector is a good idea to protect against power spikes.
Internet Connection
MT4 uses very little bandwidth — a few KB per second at most. Any home broadband or stable Wi-Fi connection works fine. For maximum reliability:
- Use a wired ethernet connection if possible (more stable than Wi-Fi)
- Make sure your router doesn't disconnect idle devices
- If your internet drops temporarily, MT4 will reconnect automatically when it comes back
- Your existing stop losses are stored on CMC's servers, so they still protect you even if your internet goes down
Remember: Your stop losses are broker-enforced on CMC Markets. Even if your laptop loses power, your internet drops, or MT4 crashes — CMC's servers will still execute your stop losses automatically. You're protected. The only thing that pauses is new trade entries.
Monitoring From Anywhere
Regardless of your setup, you can always monitor your trading from any device:
- Satis Omnibus Dashboard — Open satisomnibus.com in any browser (phone, tablet, computer). See your scanner, signals, positions, portfolio, and trade history.
- Swyftx App — Check your crypto balance and holdings directly in the Swyftx mobile app.
- CMC Markets App — Check your CMC positions and account balance from your phone.
- Email Notifications — Get notified on every trade entry and exit (enable in dashboard settings).
You don't need your laptop to monitor — only to execute CMC trades via MT4. Everything else works from your pocket.
